Moments

Nothing says "We homeschool" quite like sitting in the front yard in biblical attire, waiting for your father to come home so you can bow to him.

We have just finished studying the life of Abraham. We learned about the hospitality he showed to the strangers who visited him, and we had a little Ancient Middle Eastern dinner of our own.

Despite the fact that we ate something a little different for dinner - lentil stew ("Esau really traded his birthright for this?"), it was a very enjoyable time.

I read aloud the story of the birth of Isaac to wrap up all we had been learning about God's promises to Abraham, and when I finished, there was just one question....

"Mom, what does circumcised mean?"
