Garden City, Utah

Home of the sapphire-colored Bear Lake, green rolling hills, an idyllic climate for growing things (hence the name), delicious raspberry shakes (we can testify to that), and six-seater surrey bicycles. I cannot show you a picture, but you'll have to believe me that it was definitely a family adventure.

Each of our kids got a chance to steer us all through town and I for one am glad that we have at least seven years until any of them are awarded a learner's permit.

We had our much-needed day to rest, as we were beginning to wonder (a thousand miles from home) if we might have bit off more than we can chew with this trip. But the good news is, we have finally showered and so all is right with the world again.

We head for Yellowstone in the morning where adventure awaits and snow flurries are in the forecast. The high later this week will reach a balmy 45 degrees.

We may post again when reach the Grand Tetons, unless of course I get eaten by a bear first. In which case it was nice knowin' ya.
